Launch Event - Llanelli

Bigyn 4 in Llanelli has recently been given granted Communities First status. The Welsh Assembly Government’s Communities First programme exists to provide local people with opportunities to play an active role in shaping the future of their community. The Communities First Bigyn 4 Launch Event will be held on Penyfan Playing Field, Queen Mary’s Walk. In attendance will be Dr Brian Gibbons AM, Minister for Social Justice and Local Government and Nia Griffiths MP. This is an opportunity for the community to highlight the changes they would like to see in the community.

Carnival Queen Contest - Llanelli

Open to residents of Seaside and children attending Copperworks and Lakefield Schools.
Categories include: Fairy queen for 4-7yrs, Rose Queen for 8-11 yrs, Carnival Queen for 12-16yrs, Prince Charming for 4-11yrs, Carnival King for 12-16yrs
Registration between 5.30pm and 6.00pm prompt!

Carnival - Llwynhendy

Parade which will be led by the Llwynhendy Samba Band and the Carnival Royals, will start at the Llwynhendy Library at 12 noon and will end at Trallwm Commun ity Hall where there will be lots of activities including Fair rides, bouncy castles, a Tag Rugby tournament in conjunction with Lllanelli Scarlets and the Llwynhendy neighbourhood Police team




Farmers Market - Llandovery

From 9am to 2pm in the Market Square. For sale there will be beef, pork, lamb, vegetables, fresh raspberries and strawberries, free range eggs, organic cheese, garden plants, homemade cakes, biscuits, fudge, quiches and scones. There is also a wide variety of craft stalls from homemade soap and jewellery to pottery and knitting.

Raft Race - St Clears

Organised by St Clears Football Club. The event will start at St Clears Boating Club. Entry fee is £10 / raft and fancy dress can be worn by the crews. Boat Fishing Festival - Burry Port

Boat Fishing Festival in Burry Port Harbor was supposed to be happening on Sat 19th July, but due to bad weather reports they have postponed and re scheduled.

Prizes for best single specimen 1st is £1,000, 2nd is £500 and 3rd £250



Ladies Driving Challenge, Pembrey

Ever wanted to get behind the wheel of a fire engine or drive a JCB? Now's your chance.
Experienced drivers will help you get to grips with some of the most unusual and challenging vehicles you will ever drive and all participants will be helping the community care for those with cancer.
To take part you will need a full driving licence. To register all you need is £10 registration fee and they ask you to raise a minimum amount of £100 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Agricultural & Horticultural Show - Llanfynydd

Annual Garden Show - Ferryside

At the Rugby Club grounds. There will be classes for fruit, vegatables, floral displays and a childrens section for under 12's. There will also be outdoor exibits along with vintage and classic cars.


Carnival - Felinfoel

Between 1pm and 4pm. The carnival will begin with a walking parade from Felinfoel brewery at 1pm and will be Multi-cultural dress. Admission on to the recreation ground is £1.50 and children under 11 are free; as this years event is a multi cultural event there will be Nepalese, African, Indian and Polish dancers, as well as Drum Circle and Belly Dancers performing throughout the day.

The Lluest Horse and Pony Trust will be holding an Open Day. From 11am tp 4pm. The Trust is located at Beili Bedw, Llanddeusant, Llangadog- 4 miles south of Llangadog village just off the A4069 (sign posted.) All proceeds will go to the Lluest Horse and Pony Trust, a small, independent and local charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of Welsh .
